At Betty, we build by talking to real players.
“Talk to Jackie” is a reminder that the best decisions come from staying curious and learning from real players directly, not guessing, assuming, or relying only on data.

Early on, Justin and Jordan spoke to dozens of casino players to understand their experiences.
Three of the most insightful conversations happened to be with players all named Jackie:
They weren’t just interviews. They were a way to see the product through the player’s eyes.
These conversations helped shape the foundation of Betty – from focusing on slots to rethinking how the overall experience should feel.
You can’t build a great product from the inside out.
Assumptions are often wrong, and while data can show what is happening, it rarely explains why. Real understanding comes from listening to people directly – hearing how they think, what they feel, and where they struggle. Talking to customers builds empathy, sharpens judgment, and leads to clarity and better decisions.
More broadly, this value is also about being willing to ask for help when needed – internally or externally. That takes humility and effort, but it is often the best way to get to the right answer.
It also reinforces a mindset of curiosity – being willing to question assumptions and learn continuously rather than defaulting to what we think we know.
